The site and its processes
This site is for a local food bank. They have one full time employee and 2 part timers. All of the rest of the work is done by volunteers. So when we heard they needed a new website we felt like it was something we wanted to give to them since they serve our community in such a huge way. They will feed 12,000 people this year (or more).
We wanted the site to be simple to navigate. There are four basic things we needed to communicate: how to get help, how to help, what campaigns are currently going on, and how to donate.
Performance was a focus as well since so many people will be accessing this on a mobile device.
