Wild Rhody is a company based in Point Judith, Rhode Island that uses sustainable fishing methods and a system that gets seafood to chefs and supermarkets faster than traditional supply chains, getting the freshest, cleanest fish out to the public. They also allow consumers to “track” the fish they are about to eat with an ID number or QR code, learning where and when that seafood was caught, who caught it, and much more.

The website for Wild Rhody was built with ExpressionEngine v2.1.3 and it features a fully responsive design. Since much of the site’s traffic comes from consumers ordering, or about to order, Wild Rhody seafood in a restaurant or market, the need for a user experience optimized for any device was very important and the responsive approach used for the site helps achieve this experience.

The site’s “Taste the Difference” section, which displays the retailers that offer Wild Rhody Seafood, needed to be updated on a regular basis - making ExpressionEngine and Wygwam a perfect solution. Wild Rhody can easily add new locations or edit the existing ones in the system, tagging them with the appropriate categories for location or retailer type to allow users to further filter their search results when they are using the website.

This is the Phase 1 launch of the Wild Rhody website. Future developments will include a partner-portal that will feature Ecommerce capabilities allowing Wild Rhody partners to login and order and pay for seafood. Wild Rhody’s fishermen will be able to update inventory from out at sea, as they are making their catch, meaning that orders can be placed before the seafood has even arrived back at the dock. That’s Wild Rhody freshness.

Wild Rhody is the best provider of seafood. Two years ago I’ve started a business with frozen yogurt machines and it was a real success. But my dream was to go further and to have my own restaurant.Four months ago I’ve made my dream come true and I opened a fancy restaurant in Chicago and I’ve started to order different seafood products from Wild Rhody.I am very satisfied of their services and they have quality products which are delicious.
