University of Massachusetts Boston

http://www.umb.edu

The University of Massachusetts Boston is a student-centered urban public research university with over 16,000 students.

This site is a ground up redesign of both visual presentation and information architecture. The previous site housed over 40,000 static pages, with a portion of the site converted to EE 1.7.  The new site has been parsed down to approximately 6500 pages. It is a complete departure from the old site.

The focus of the redesign was based upon story telling and putting information into useful, findable groups instead of having the information silo’d by departments or business units.

There are currently over 300 web editors, 125 user groups and roughly 250 channels.

Majors challenges for the site were primarily around scaling Structure.  We managed a lot of server load issues with Static Page caching.  The site_pages array is still something we are trying to find a way to efficiently manage.

The site is hosted at EngineHosting in a VPS-4 environment.

The use of the other addons are too wide spread to describe in detail here.  Feel free to contact us if you have any specific questions.

I wonder if the school also has martial arts program like Jiu Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Students also needs to learn self defense for their protection and physical fitness.

University of Massachusetts Boston is one of the most appreciated university in the state and I am very proud of this. They also offer some great organizational leadership degree programs that are made to create proper leaders in a wide range of professional activities. In those learning groups, students study employee relations and the human behavior to improve a company’s productivity. I know all this from my daughter that is in her last year at this university.

The change you made on this website is considerable and the difference is noticeable. While I was looking for more information about mba operations I’ve noticed that this redesign of putting information into useful, findable groups made the The University of Massachusetts Boston website to look very good. It is easy to navigate and the structure is a solid one. Thank you for your hard work!

This says a lot about the study quality standards of this institution. The fact that they have been working so hard on such an advanced internal and external communication system virtual presentation tours, we can only expect for the best when it comes to learning with them. Great value education emphasizes value as well when displaying itself in front of the public eye. I am currently taking my rn to bsn degree and I have had a pleasant surprise by seeing how much the online learning environment has evolved.

This is good news to me. I have barely started my online human servicers online degree and I crave for a job in the public sector after I finish my studies. I know there have been some controversies around the job market field but I hope it`s all coming around now, so that we can all aspire for a decent career path for the least. I am well aware the path is paved with more than one challenge, to begin with, but I believe ambition is all that it takes to eventually succeed. It`s so nice to see there are wide online platforms where you can read about the latest academic and career news.

I am utterly interested in internships or career opportunities for online masters in public health graduates. I have been observing the latest changes in the public healthcare system and I can`t tell whether this is prolific for young graduates looking for a job in this field or not, with all the financial background and everything. Luckily, there are many online platforms conducted by universities that keep you informed.

I have a friend that finished his master of public administration at this university and I must say that it was not a second hand university! After finishing he had a secured job and a lot of internship opportunities something which other universities does not assure. I am thinking of following a master in geography there but I can’t seem to find the tuition fees on their site.

Wow this website looks really great. I have never thought that a web dedicated to the university can look so cool. I will definitely recommend this engine to my cna training school because I think it would look awesome too. Thanks for posting these examples here and keep publishing such nice ones in the nearest future too.

I want to know how easy it is to enroll in programs online as I will be traveling for a while. Or if there is any possibility for someone else to take care of my admission. Also which step is better to follow for my admission and if someone knows any extra tips. Thank you for your help.
