Showcasing ExpressionEngine websites from all over the web
Unitus Community Credit Union
In the midst of a turbulent economy, American consumers are turning to credit unions as an alternative to for-profit banks. For Unitus Community Credit Union (one of the oldest in Oregon) the trend made a much-needed website update even more pressing. The new site needed to serve as a virtual branch — providing members the secure, dependable, and top quality care they’ve come to know, but also introducing new users to the Unitus community.
Unitus called on us — COPIOUS, a Portland-based digital agency —to design and build the new site. After outlining technical and creative needs and implications, ExpressionEngine was the clear choice. A major feature of the Unitus site is an interactive widget that suggests products and services based on a user’s life events. Because ExpressionEngine allows a flexible, graceful combination of traditional and customized content entry, this widget can be managed from a single interface.
With the launch date butting up to the holiday season, and with our reputation for on-time development to uphold, avoiding project delays was paramount. When our development team needs information about an add-on update or bug fix, knowing they can depend on the helpful, passionate ExpressionEngine developer community earns major brownie points.
The ultimate test comes when we hand off the website to the client. We conduct several training sessions and supply tutorial materials, but our strongest asset is the product itself. Expression Engine’s intuitive navigation and clean, logical interface makes our job easier.
Last but not least, the site needed to look good. When you walk in to a Unitus branch, it’s both cozy and elegant. You’re welcomed by fresh flowers and warm, rich colors. The website needed to produce the same effect. While any decent CMS shouldn’t get in the way of how a site behaves on the front-end, ExpressionEngine ensures a fully customizable experience when integrating the front-end and back-end.
