The Red Chair NJ is a local custom interior design store. The design store also sells furniture and accessories.

This website is a redesign of an existing ecommerce web site based on cube cart. The new web site has all functionality within expressionengine and uses brilliantretail for the ecommerce function and campaignmonitor for email marketing.

The main focus for the new web site was to make the checkout process faster and easier as well as create a clean and fresh design while making it easy for the store owner to manage the website.

Streamlining the checkout process for the web site end users was easy by utilizing brilliantretail’s one page checkout functionality. At the same time it was important to create a system that gives the shop owners easy and full control over the website. This was achieved by creating 5 Channels and 3 field groups and creating custom links to the channel entries by utilizing Zoo Flexible Admin. The 5 channels only hold 1 entry each to control the main areas of the website. The rest is controlled through brilliantretail categories and products.

1.) About Channel
A simple WIGYWAM field for ‘about us’ text followed by a simple two column matrix for picture and caption. CE Image creates thumbnails and large image for a photo gallery in the front end. Uses ‘general’ field group.

2.) Interior Design Channel
Exactly the same implementation and fields as ‘about’ channel. Uses ‘general’ field group.

3.) Custom Work Channel
Same implementation and fields as ‘about’ channel and ‘interior design’ channel with the exception that the front end gallery looks slightly different. Uses ‘general’ field group.

4.) Contact Channel
WYGWAM fields for contact text and address. Also a picture field to upload shop photo. Uses ‘contact’ field group..

5.) Homepage Slider Channel
This uses ‘homepage’ field group which includes a BR field to easily attach brilliantretail products to the homepage slider to be featured. The next field is 6 column matrix that lets the admin easily and quickly create promotional slides. Heavy use of CE image for products and background images. The admin can also select position of text box by selecting from predefined drop down list. (top-left, bottom-left, top-right, bottom-right, center..)  The text box sits on top of the background photo which gets auto cropped and re-sized by CE images.

Zoo Flexible Admin was used to fully customize the navigation buttons in the control panel for the store admin. The BR dashboard is the default screen for admin after login. There are 7 main nav buttons for the admin to quickly access all areas of website

SHOP -> this is a dropdown for all the BR things like product, category, orders, promitions, reports, settings
CUSTOMERS -> link to customers
HOMEPAGE SLIDER -> One click brings up the homepage slider entry to control homepage slides
CUSTOM WORK -> One click brings up the custom work entry
INTERIOR DESIGN -> One click to edit interior design entry
CONTACT PAGE -> One click to edit contact page entry
CONTACT FORM SUBMISSION -> Link to solspace free form page

Its very easy and fast for the shop owners to manage the website. A couple of clicks lets them attach and feature items to the homepage slider, or lets them create promotional slides. One click on the main nav like ‘about’ brings up the actual about entry in the about channel and admin can edit text and/or upload photos.

The sign up form in the footer is connected with campaignmonitor list.

The key components for this website are brilliantretail, ce images, wigwam ad zoo flexible admin. Combined this creates an extremely easy to use website for both end user and store owners.
