Partnership For Strong Families

Partnership for Strong Families is a non-profit in North Central Florida. Prior to the redesign they hosted different sites for several departments, with content distributed across each; they asked us to create one consistent site to bring the departments and content together.

They wanted their web presence to be inviting yet professional, and needed it to appeal to every demographic—their audience includes young foster children, families or individuals looking to adopt or foster, partner agencies, partner families, and a network of providers.

The site features and channels include: a searchable staff directory, a interactive calendar, a “heart gallery” adoption board, profiles for members of the executive leadership team and the board of directors, static pages managed by Structure (over 100 pages), and a database of forms and documents. Every piece of content on the site is manageable by the client including the homepage slideshow, homepage content boxes, sidebar elements (including the ability to add and select elements on a page-by-page basis using Playa), staff directory, contact information, and news articles and videos; the client can also add or edit new pages with up to four levels of navigation. Every edit to the navigation structure is reflected in the breadcrumbs, primary nav, sidebar subpage nav, footer nav, and sitemap page. We used Channel Files for adding forms to pages, which are displayed in a table within a form page type/template. For this site, Channel Files, Flexible Admin and Structure really shone through—they were the perfect modules for our development needs.

Partnership has several major departments and hundreds of employees. Each department represents a member group that the company’s admins can manage. Membership in a particular member group restricts editing abilities to the pages for a member’s particular department. Every page and entry uses Entry Access to restrict or give access to members of each department.

The client also required lower level members to be able to save their edits as drafts, which require a supervisor approval to publish. This is achieved using a custom-built application.
