Lone Mountain Ranch

Lone Mountain Ranch is a dude ranch in southwest Montana. The goal of the new site was to showcase the huge variety of activities at the ranch, for both winter and summer, as well as the ranch’s excellent location just outside Yellowstone National Park. The site was designed with a ‘rustic elegance’ ambiance and includes an abundance of photos to give visitors a sense of what it’s like to stay at the ranch.
Early research showed the ranch had two distinct audiences - winter visitors and summer visitors. To optimize the experience for each group we decided to create two ‘flavors’ of the site - winter and summer. Depending on the time of year the site will default to one of the flavors, and users can easily switch between winter/summer through the tabs at the top of the site. On the backend we’re controlling the flavor through a little snippet of PHP that stores the desired flavor in a browser cookie.
The site currently uses one channel (Pages) for the entire site. Brian Litzinger’s Blueprints add-on works it’s magic on the Publish pages to display only the necessary fields for each page.
The two-flavor system meant we needed different navigation menus for winter and summer. To manage this we used NavEE to create two similar, yet slightly different navigation bars.

This website is great! It has clear and quality content and the photos are amazing! Montana would be definitely the best choice if you want an adventure trip somewhere in the middle of the nature. I grew up there until I was ten years old and I moved with my parents in San Francisco. I still miss my childhood there as it is a beautiful place.

I think that this site looks pretty awesome and I am sure that a lot of people will be interested to navigate on it. And this is not only because it has a nice design..but because it has a lot of useful information too.

This is a well designed site.It captured all the great activities offered by Lone Mountain Ranch. As a sales manager I travel a lot and stay in different hotels;For my vacation I needed a place such as this one and here I had an amazing time.

I think this is an amazing place to spend your vacation. I love to go hiking and this, I think it’s the perfect place for that. I have a friend who works at hotel in ontario california and he told me about this website. He comes here every summer and told me about the amazing landscapes,the variety of activities you can do both in summer and winter.

This is a lovely site. I love very much to travel, so I stayed at many hotels. But I must say that this place is one of my favorites. I love the rustic but elegant design of these lodges. But, also I enjoy the classic and modern style, for example hotel in eau Claire wi where I spent my last vacation.
