The concept behind this website was to promote awareness of the church, its events and programs, and volunteer opportunities to church members and to newcomers alike. Using a combination of channels
A couple of media-related sections were powered by channels. The messages were were driven by a channel, which was able to output both a podcast feed, as well as a dedicated messages page (with both audio and video sections). Using Tub-ee, the staff could then assign videos from Vimeo and Youtube and associate them with a specific message.
The events functionality was driven by an Events channel. With dynamic start and end dates, publishers could set entries to automatically appear and expire. Using Playa, we were able to link videos from the Media channel, and hooked into a third-party User management system called FellowshipOne for event registrations. Additionally, the events page was controlled by a dropdown that could determine page layout from a series of options, giving publishers a small bit of control over the look. Finally, for simple registrations, we hooked in Freeform, and used a Form channel to give the staff control over building their own forms.
Schedules was powered by a Resources channel, and just like events, schedules could be set to appear and expire when needed. A simple file field in the backend allowed for uploading of PDF’s.
FInally, additional content spread out over the site was given its own channel. Using the search in the backend, staff could change content and images. The contact page was also powered by Freeform.
