Chris Watts Photography & Design
This website represents my photography business, Chris Watts Photography & Design. I offer lifestyle and portrait photography for seniors (High School), models, couples, families and kids, as well as fine art and travel photography.
My website, built entirely in ExpressionEngine 2, features a custom-built blog and dynamic, Flash-based photo galleries using SlideShow Pro, integrated with EE. I used Solspace FreeForm to build various contact / customer info forms, as well as Brian Litzinger’s Custom System Messages to enable the use of standard EE templates for system error / info messages.
Overall, working with EE was a pleasant and painless experience. Any issues I ran into, of which there were very few, were quickly resolved with the help of EE’s excellent technical support team.
I chose to use EE instead of other CMS’s (WordPress, for example) primarily for complete customization of the design and functionality of the website, but also for security purposes. For me, as a web designer / developer, one of the primary strengths of EE is the ability to completely customize the organization and presentation of the information on my website, without having to adapt to any “cookie-cutter” limitations imposed by some other CMS’s, which was extremely important in creating a unique, custom design.
