Lowestoft Sixth Form College

Lowestoft Sixth Form College partnered with Special Design Studio and Web & Pen to design and build a website that would inspire students, showcasing both the facilities and the experience.
The site-content is fully-managed using Expression Engine with several addons used. Pixel & Tonic’s Matrix manages the photo galleries, prospectus orders are handled with Solspace’s Freeform and the beautifully-designed calendar uses Solspace’s Calendar.
The site makes heavy use of Javascript to power the site’s innovative navigation, slideshows and Courses search. The biggest challenge came from the college’s network proxy, which required some tweaking to accommodate ExpressionEngine’s Control Panel and also meant cutting-back on loading content within the page using Javascript.
MX Mobile Detect helped with providing a mobile-speciifc version of the site.
